"You Look Rejuvenated..."

After a week of being the world's biggest lifesaver, my Mom went home today. Since we decided not to go to the Outer Banks this weekend (it was going to rain the whole time and traveling with two kids only to be stuck inside all weekend was not necessarily my idea of a grand time - although, we will miss seeing our family very much!) Pat came to get her a little early. Knowing that this was last day to take advantage of my extra set of hands, I made sure the house was straight (not clean, but picked up) and tried to squeeze in as many chores as possible. I took a shower before lunch time (which these days is a pure miracle) and off she went after lunch.

I was very sad to see my Mom go home but know I had to sike myself up to conquer the remaining two days of the week without her. I felt a bit empowered this afternoon and I guess it was still obvious when Kevin got home. His first words to me were: "You look rejuvenated. Was it because you took a shower today?"...HAHA. This is not in any way a rude comment, but a true statement. Just to remind everyone, if I get a shower and get dressed before lunch (or at all) I am doing very, very well. So, yes, I did take a shower and get myself ready today...and it made me feel much better! I need more days like today...but that would require there being more hours in the day, more arms and hands on my body, and batteries to keep me going. I miss you already, Mom!

Off to bed - Lily's preschool open house is tomorrow. Oh my, she is going to love it.

Mom's are the greatest aren't they? You never really appreciate them until you become one....then you wonder why they put up with you! Definitely not the greatest weekend to visit, although is didn't rain as much as we thought, it was still a little to humid to stay outside long!
