Not Me! Monday

I agree with MckMama: I'm in need a free therapy session. Don't forget to read about what she didn't do this week. I'm sure it's nothing...as mother's always have it together.

Being the neurotic laid back, easy-going mother that I am, I most certainly did not take Landon back to the doctor less than 24-hours after our previous visit because he was "wheezing". They told me that if he started wheezing to bring him back in, because he could have begin building fluid in his lungs. Of course, I did not spend more than one minute with the doctor who quickly diagnosed my son with the same thing he had the day before. Duh! Any normal mother would not have done that...

I most certainly did not volunteer to let my almost 8-month old eat some of my chocolate milkshake because I couldn't get him to stop whining knew he was uncomfortable for basically obtaining a half of a mouth's worth of teeth in just a few short days! He loved it by the way. I don't know which was worse: the last drop of milkshake or the six teeth he has! He definitely isn't a result of "second-child" syndrome. I would have NEVER given Lily a chocolate milkshake at this age.

Kevin's family (two brothers and their wives, two kids, and oh by the way...the four of us!) came in for the weekend to visit. Our non-sleepover guests included his parents and sister. I did not come to the conclusion that we don't ever need a bigger house, we just need more people to visit at one time and then leave at the same time, to make our house seem a lot bigger! I did not know 2,150 square feet could feel so big!

I was so bored at one point last week that I did not take out the "Busy Toddler Book" and randomly flip to a page to find a game Lily and I could play. We found something like this: facing each other, put your legs out and feet together, hold hands, and open your legs into a triangle. Rock back and forth and sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"...then repeat. Yes, we did this on our living room floor several hundred times that day. I have not opened the book since, but plan to use it on a regular basis to keep from going crazy with my know-it-all toddler.

After driving around the parking lot at Village Deli/Las Palmas in Wake Forest with my two starving kids (not to mention a hungry, Mom!) I finally found a spot. As I was reversing to back into the parking spot, a man on his blackberry did NOT pull into the spot and proceed to sit in his car and talk. I definitely did not sit and wait for him to get out, roll down my window, and say: "Sir, I was pulling into this parking spot..." all the while he is still chatting away on his blackberry. He mumbled a response, not mean, and it probably was not even answering me (he was that clueless!?). He honestly probably didn't see me beacuse he was not paying attention to anything but his conversation. But, that didn't give him the right to have the parking spot before me. He pulled out and I pulled in. You really don't want to mess with a hungry family! I must look mean driving a black minvan!

I did not email MckMama so fast that she did not have time to press send about the MckCruise she is setting up for next January! My husband thought I was crazy, but is now getting used to the idea of setting sail with my "blogger" friends. He's just jealous of the virtual relationships I have gained. But, he sure won't be jealous when we are cruising the caribbean! :)

My mother in law gave me the book for Valentine's Day. It has saved the da numerous times! It's called "The Toddler's Busy Book: 365 Creative Games and Activities to Keep Your 1.5 to 3-year-old Busy" by Trish Kuffner. It's a must have...especially with my two youngins'...

One of my favorites is Jungle Safari. It involves a flashlight and all of her stuffed animals! You pretend you are looking for them. Haha! Wow - did I really just write that?

Laura..I don't know where he gets this teeth thing from. I like to call him "physically advanced"...he is working on a few more. Lily didn't have a single tooth until she was almost 9 months old!
