Not Me! Monday (Updated)

Has it already been a week since last Monday? Time sure does fly by, especially when you are not on vacation from your already-part-time job.

I still have not folded the 357 loads of laundry that I've done over the past few weeks. Everytime I think I am "caught up" I most certainly don't walk by the hampers to find them overflowing. I have come to the conclusion that the one thing in life that I can let go from time to time is the laundry. It gets done. Just not all at once. ;)

For Mother's Day, my husband so graciously let me take a nap. Oh, wait, no he didn't. He let me take two. Really? Was I that tired? I think I just did it because I could. I could not fall asleep last night to save my life. I cannot imagine why?

After the kids were in bed on both Friday and Saturday nights, I did not scurry off to Kohl's in search of summer pajamas for Lily and Landon. I most certainly have not been allowing them to wear their thick flannel pajamas every night to bed. I once again did Irealize that all of the boys pajamas are definitely not as cute and colorful as the girl pajamas. But, they sure beat the thick flannel PJs.

I am not trying very hard to teach Lily the difference between a red light and a green light so she will stop yelling "Go, Mommy, Go Now!" everytime I stop at a stoplight. She can't possibly think I am sitting still for the fun of it, right?

While running errands last week and getting in and out of the van with the two kids and the double stroller, I was not totally exhausted. I did not secretly smile every time someone said to me "Your children are so well-behaved." Well, they are, but mostly because I had bribed them food the entire time we were out. All of the snack were healthy, I promise!

Update: For some reason, I just knew my Not Me! Monday post was not finished. Of course, while at Target this evening trying to loko at throw pillows, my 2 year old wanted to push the cart up and down the aisles herself. Being the not-so-neurotic mother that I am, I let her because I was simply trying to get two cotton-picking minutes of silence to figure out what color pillows we wanted. I totally did not let her steer the cart from the bottom, pushing the cart a certain way, in hopes of not hitting the pedestrians in the aisle! She did NOT throw a t-total hissy fit when we were leaving because we had to leave the cart AT Target. I was definitely not excited that my husband was with me to witness the event (and the rest of Wake Forest). Lily was literally kicking and screaming all the way to the car. I was totally not that Mom.

After we got home and she had finally settled down, I did not race back out to Harris Teeter so I could get the Wisk that was on sale. I did not see a woman on the cleaning supplies aisle with a "Grocery Game" list and proceed to tell her all about it, give her websites she could get the info. from for free, and talk to her all the way to the checkout line. I am not so cost-conscious that I would try to help others save as much as I do every week. Nope, that's definitely not me!

Make sure to go on over to MckMama's blog to see what she didn't do this past week.

My 23 month old started telling me to "go" when I stop at red lights or stop signs. I think that is so funny!
