"I Diddy, Mommy!"

On Saturday morning, Lily woke up and let me know she had to go pee pee on the potty. This isn't abnormal, but the inconsistency that came along with her interest/non-interest of using the potty was quite frankly starting to be way more work than it was worth. But, I guess that's how it is with 26-month-olds. And I quickly realized that no matter what I said or bribed her with did, I knew she would just let me know when she was ready to be potty trained.

And she was. And I wasn't. I mean, physically, yes (I had ironically bought her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse panties on Friday) but mentally, it was very hard for me to take this next step in parenting. It was literally as if she woke up on Saturday morning and knew how to go on the potty. Although she had peed on the potty for quite some time now (not consistently), she has never...you know, gone number two. She sure did change her mind and goes now! And sometimes, I even got away without rewarding her! I don't know who is prouder, me or her! She even had to go in public today and I was a nervous wreck. But, she went and then announced to the restaurant, "I diddy!"... And for those of you without toddlers, that translates to "I did it!". I don't know who is prouder, me or her!

Kevin's family was here visiting for the weekend and we gave Laurence (Kevin's sister-in-law) a baby shower for Baby Kyle who should make his appearance in mid-August. It was so much fun to have everyone together. I didn't take very many pictures (I was too busy going in and out of the house for potty breaks!) but here are a few from the last few weeks.

Landon on our front porch.

Lily on the front porch. She is posing!

Landon just being his fun self. He is the sweetest thing.

Just hanging out in the pool...before her Daddy starting teaching her new tricks!

She is not afraid of anything and just loves the water!

This particular time, she came up out of the water hysterical laughing, got out of the pool, and ran back around to the slide yelling "My turn! My turn!"...It was only 8 AM and our company wasn't awake, yet...so she didn't have to share her slide, yet! But, she was just making sure we knew! ;)

Good for Lily! Harper likes to say she needs to go and then sits there and nothing happens and then she says "I wipe" so I let her and then she flushes. Maybe one day soon she'll actually pee!
