And Monday has come and gone, but unfortunately (or fortunately) there are a lot of things I did NOT do today...and last week. I totally did not ENJOY the peace and quiet of both of my children napping at the same time. Although everyone always says, "Your children are such wonderful, well-behaved babies!"...they do not know the secret. I'll let you in on it: they sleep really well. It's amazing what a good nap and a good night sleep will do for them. And if they do not get it, well...let's just say it's not a fun day alive. Somebody knew I would not be able to handle two infants if they were not good sleepers! Thank you God! (I totally did NOT just jinx myself by stating the above!)
I totally do not make an excuse for how I never have time to clean my house every time someone walks through my front door. Why should I have to explain why there are four pairs of Lily's shoes in the hallway, a book or two on the kitchen floor, and puzzle pieces scattered everywhere? I should just get a sign for the front door that says "Mother of two children under 2." Or not. It should just be obvious why my house is not spotless: I'm busy!
I definitely do not obsess over watching The Bachelor every Monday night. When is all of the drama going to take place with DeAnna? I am so not looking forward to next weeks show, already!
This weekend, I did not just discover that Lily and Landon love watching Playhouse Disney! Why haven't I been letting them watch it all along! It actually is very educational. I definitely have not been singing "Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog..." at random times throughout the day!
Lily does not say "Mommy hide" every time I ask her to do something...followed by her running behind something or covering her face. Although cute, it's kind of tiring when trying to get something accomplished!
I am not in desperate need of a shopping spree. Not for anything in particular, just the five-minute satisfaction of buying something I totally do not need.
My husband has not spent the past few days/nights listening/watching Clark Howard. I totally did NOT make Kevin wear headphones because I can only take so much advice from Clark. Do you know who Clark is? Don't worry, neither did I. He is a millionaire who retired when he was 31 by doing a few specific things with his money: saving, investing, and limiting his spending (he already lost me there!). He gives lectures and is on TV showing people exactly how they can do the same. He just talks about real things: bills, houses, economy, spending, etc. I hope we can retire in our paid for house in just 6 more years. I hope Kevin doesn't quit his day job, just yet. ;)
While Kevin learned how and what to do with our money, I made hairbows for Lily. I totally did not stay up all hours of the night watching YouTube videos on how to make different types. On Sunday, I did not pack up my entire brood, just to venture to Michael's to buy more ribbon and alligator clips. I am so not excited about my new hobby, which is also very resourceful considering my daughter wears a bow in her hair every single day of her life! I could save us a lot money, you know!? Take that one, Clark!
I have not kissed, love on, hugged, rolled around with, cuddled, spoke to, tickled, played with, or held hands with my children more in the past few days as I ever have. I'll never regret not doing the dishes or cleaning up toys because I'll always remember these moments. I am so thankful that Landon does NOT have anything wrong with him and I am most certainly not the proudest mother ever.
